House Passes Repeal Measure

This afternoon, the House voted 217 – 213 to pass a bill to begin the process of repealing and replacing Obamacare.

The bill will head to the Senate where it is anticipated that changes will be made to the House bill.

Among other items;

  • the bill will eliminate tax penalties for people who decide to go without insurance.
  • Medicaid expansion would be halted and rolled back on a state by state basis.
  • Tax credits from $2,000 to $4,000 would replace the subsidies.

The Congressional Budget Office has yet to score this bill but it is anticipated they will shortly.
